Despite his melancholic appearance, Ulquiorra is anything but a sorrowful, angst-ridden emo kidbeing. Intelligent and observant, he's a confident man, as only to be expected from a man of his ranking, but by no means is he brash. Ulquiorra is, in a word, calculating. Every word, every thought seems to have a purpose, no movement is wasted, no syllable uttered unless utterly necessary in expressing his thoughts or opinions. Ulquiorra is not considered to be an exceptionally kind, amiable man either. Rather, he's possessed of a rather dark sense of humour, and more often than not, his carefully chosen words are laced with only the sharpest, subtlest cynicism. Disdainful of the foolish and the weak, he's not a man to hold back in a verbal flaying. When something needs to be done, he'll make sure it gets done, even if he has to do it himself. A convenience, then, that he has no fear of getting his hands dirty in the process.
Cool and aloof, he seems disinterested, if not outright bored, with his surroundings, no matter what the situation may be. In battle, whether it be towards ally or foe, he displays an almost casual cruelty, an off-hand callousness. His confidence is a thing to behold, and it would be a great feat indeed to drive him to draw his zanpaku-to. Given his strength in hand-to-hand combat alone, accomplishing such would not be very productive to one's continuing health. Not a man to be trifled with, to be sure. Yet he's a seemingly devoted one, utterly respectful towards his creator, Aizen Sousuke, obedient and obliging. But then, what arrancar isn't?
